Presentation

Right eye pain, blurred vision, and limitation of motion in adduction.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Large tubular benign-appearing osseous mass lesion coronal width up to 22x10mm in right ethmoid sinus with pronounced growth within right orbital cavity nasal side and remarkable impression on medial rectus muscle and optic nerve sheath complex. The anterior margin of the lesion is in close contact with the right eye's posterior uveo-scleral layer middle to nasal side. Fluid and thick mucosa in paranasal sinuses are seen.

Case Discussion

A rare case of large ethmoid sinus osteoma with exophytic growth within the right orbital cavity has led to blurred vision, pain, and limitation of motion of the eye. Chronic sinusitis is one of the major mucosal irritating factors for paranasal sinus osteoma formation.
