Ethmoid mucocele

Presentation

Right exophthalmos.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female
mri

Right ethmoidal mucocele of low signal intensity on T1WI, high signal intensity on T2WI (water-rich content) with peripheral enhancement on post-contrast sequences, extending to the ipsilateral nasal fossa. It produces an expansile thinning of the lamina papyracea with compression and displacement of the right orbital muscles as well as the globe (non-axial proptosis grade I).

Mucosal thickening of both maxillary with filling of the ethmoid cells. Hypoplastic frontal sinuses.
