Presentation

Stabbing (knife) wound to the abdomen.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

There is evisceration of small intestine through the left lateral abdominal wall. In addition, there is a left retroperitoneal haematoma, which exerts mass effect displacing the left kidney cranially.

Case Discussion

Evisceration of bowel following a stab wound from a knife. Evisceration is the extrusion of abdominal contents secondary to penetrating abdominal trauma.
