Presentation

Shortness of breath. Prior breast cancer.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Contracted right breast implant. The port of the expandable implant is projected over the lower right hemithorax.

The lungs are hyperinflated, but clear. Heart size normal.

Case Discussion

A small number of all breast implants are expandable. These have a port for access and may be visible on plain radiograph of the chest as in this case.
