Extensive cerebral ischemia due to occlusion of the right internal carotid artery

Patient presented with severe stroke symptoms.

Patient Data

Age: 70
Gender: Male

Extensive right-sided ischemia and brain swelling (notice the hyperdense media and anterior artery suggesting occlusion of the internal carotid).

Control imaging after decompressive craniectomy showing massive ischemia, edema/swelling and signs of herniation. The patient died within hours after this study.
