Case contributed by Dr Jeremy Jones

Shortness of breath and a history of aspergillus isolate from brochoscopic washings.

Case Discussion

Initial presentation was with shortness of breath.  Chest radiograph revealed a left upper lobe abnormality which progressed to a lobular pattern at the time of bronchoscopy.

Bronchoscopy revealed no focal abnormality and aspergillus was isolated from bronchial washings.

CT demonstrated a bronchocoele.

Within 4 months, the bronchocoele had significantly increased in size with soft tissue demonstrated distal to the left main bronchus.
