Extensor carpi ulnaris tenosynovitis

H/o thorn injury to ulnar aspect of wrist / distal forearm - 15 days back. C/o local non-resolving swelling. USG to look for ECU and any foreign body.

Patient Data

Age: about 45 yrs
Gender: Male

Global thickening with effusion is noted at sheath of extensor carpi ulnaris ( ECU ) tendon. Local hypervascularity also is  present. There is normal fibrillar pattern at ECU tendon and no evidence of intratendinus  hypoechoic areas /Tears. Foeign body could not be localized.

Case Discussion

The ultrasonography findings are compatible with extensor carpi ulnaris tenosynovitis.
