There is a pedunculated bony mass arising from the posterior wall of the left external auditory canal, obliterating the canal.
Case Discussion
The CT features of a unilateral focal, pedunculated bony overgrowth most consistent with an osteoma of the external auditory canal.
On imaging, the main differential diagnosis is an exostosis of the external auditory canal (surfer's ear) which usually is bilateral with broad-based bony overgrowth.
