Extra-articular distal radius fracture (Colles fracture) with dorsal angulation of the distal fracture fragment. Minimal impaction. Associated displaced ulna styloid fracture. Radiocarpal articulation is congruent.
Case Discussion
Distal radial fractures of extremely common. A Colles fracture is a extra-articular distal radial fracture however distal radial fractures with intra-articular extension are also extremely common.
When describing angulation and displacement of a fracture, the angulation/displacement is described in terms of the distal component relative to the proximal component.
