Extradural hematoma

Fractured right parietal bone with diastasis of the right occipitomastoid suture with a large epidural hematoma. Note effacement of sulci and moderate midline shift. The fracture extends to the petrous part of the temporal bone with resultant partial opacification of the mastoid air cells and middle ear.
Case Discussion
Large right parietotemporal epidural hematoma associated with right parietal bone fracture. Diastasis of the right occipitomastoid suture with opacification of the right mastoid air cells and right sphenoid sinus is consistent with base of skull fracture. Right external auditory canal bleed is also seen. Large right parietal subgaleal swelling/hematoma is also noted.
