CT scan shows biconvex epidural haematoma over the right frontal lobe which is homogenously hyperdense. There are evidence of midline shift and subfalcine herniation. A fracture line is noted at the right temporal bone as well.
Extradural haematoma is one form of extra-axial collection. It is usually associated with trauma, the shaped said to represent a lemon, as opposed to a banana appearance with a subdural haematoma.
In 95% of cases a underlying fracture is present.
