Bilateral thoracic paraspinal masses containing macroscopic fat.
Cirrhosis, portal hypertension, portal venous thrombosis, splenomegaly and oesophageal varices.
Left nephrectomy.
Prior bowel surgery and right abdominal wall hernia.
Calcified buttock injection sites.
Case Discussion
Histology: Right thoracic paravertebral mass - The paraffin sections of the frozen section and residual tissue show fibrofatty tissue with extra medullary haematopoiesis (EMHP). There is no evidence of malignancy.
Extra medullary haematopoiesis was secondary to myelofibrosis.
