Presentation
Non-functioning PICC line in a known case of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL).
Patient Data
The PICC line is seen on the right side with the tip overlying the trachea shadow, suspicious of extravasation of the PICC line.
The CT scan confirms extravascular migration of the PICC line from the right subclavian vein into the soft tissue of the chest wall with a tip in the suprasternal notch region.
Case Discussion
The peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is a type of central venous catheter and commonly used for chemotherapy. The extravascular migration of PICC line is one of the uncommon complication.
