There is a large lobulated soft tissue density poorly enhancing mass lesion with numerous phleboliths in the left buccal region. There is hypertrophy of the left masseter, pterygoid and buccinator muscles.
A note is made of soft tissue lesion in the right maxillary antrum extruding through the right maxillary ostium into the right nasal cavity and causing widening of the right maxillary ostium. Appearance is suggestive of a polyp.
Case Discussion
Phleboliths are calcifications within the venous system; therefore frequently present in venous vascular malformation. They are seen in up to 50% of cases of cavernous hemangioma.
Dr. Farhad Farzam has also contributed to this case.
