Fahr disease - juvenile onset

Bilaterally hyperdense (+178HU) lesions, suggestive of calcification, involving basal ganglia, right caudate nucleus and subcortical white matter.
Case Discussion
In this 10 year old patient, serum biochemistry tests revealed normal serum levels of calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase. The CT scan findings, when correlated with typical clinical history and normal serum biochemistry, were suggestive of Fahr disease.
