CRL (Crown rump length) is 20 mm on these transabdominal views and no heartbeat is seen.
Case Discussion
To minimize the risk of false positive diagnosis of miscarriage:
- a mean sac diameter (MSD) cut off >25 mm
and/or
- a crown rump length (CRL) cut off >7 mm
without a detectable heart rate is compatible with early pregnancy failure.
Please note that these values are for endovaginal (transvaginal) imaging. If transabdominal imaging only, then the CRL cut off is >15 mm.
