The scout image of the CT scan demonstrate the typical signs of pneumoperitoneum. There is falciform ligament sign and football sign apparent here. Selected axial images from the CT, demonstrate the falciform ligament sign.

Case Discussion

Falciform ligament sign is a sign of pneumoperitoneum where air is outlining the falciform ligament making it visible on x-ray and CT. Football sign is also a sign of pneumoperitoneum .

Other signs of pneumoperitoneum include:  Rigler sign and inverted V sign.
