Selected axial and coronal images from a non-contrast CT demonstrate normal submucosal fat halo in the terminal ileum. 

Case Discussion

Asymptomatic patient with renal calculus CT KUB (not shown) with a normal fat halo of the terminal ileum and ileocecal valve. Submucosal fatty metaplasia elsewhere is seen in chronic inflammation.
