Significant loss of subcutaneous fat in the left gluteal region with irregularity of overlying skin.
Sheet-like STIR hyperintensity is seen abutting gluteus maximus muscle with complete loss of overlying subcutaneous fat.
Possible hyperintense strands are also seen in adjacent subcutaneous fat planes anteriorly.
Case Discussion
Findings are consistent with fat necrosis with lipoatrophy.
