Large well-defined hepatic cyst located in segment 7 with focal wall calcification, homogeneous fluid content with small areas of fatty density.
Case Discussion
The presence of fatty attenuation material or fat-fluid level within the hepatic hydatid cyst is considered an indirect sign of communication with the biliary tree 1,2. Another study suggests that the presence of fatty material within the cyst is due to the degeneration of membranes within the cyst 3.
