Fatal intracranial haemorrhage

Innumerable, mostly intra-parenchymal, haemorrhages throughout the cerebral hemispheres, brainstem and cerebellum. Early hydrocephalus. Midline shift to the left.
Case Discussion
This patient had an acute leukaemia with profound thrombocytopenia, and passed away shortly after this scan. Intracranial haemorrhage is the most common haemorrhagic cause of death in these patients.
