Fatty falx on CT

Chronic headache.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female

Multiple foci of fat attenuation(HU -6 to -15) noted in the falx cerebri anteriorly and tentorium cerebelli.

Anterior falx ossification also noted.

Age related diffuse cerebral atrophy and chronic small vessel ischemic changes seen.

Case Discussion

Fatty falx cerebri is an incidental finding and most commonly seen in elderly patients.
