Femoral greater trochanter avulsion fracture

Presentation

Trauma. Previous poliomyelitis of the lower limb.

There is an avulsion fracture involving greater trochanter of right femur. There is no extension of fracture line towards lesser trochanter - meaning no intertrochanteric fracture.

There is abnormal narrow neck of femur with apparently large femur head - sequelae of poliomyelitis.
