Femoral greater trochanter avulsion fracture

Case contributed by Dr Maulik S Patel

Case of residual poliomyelitis of lower limb. History of trauma.

There is an avulsion fracture involving greater trochanter of femur. There is no extension of fracture line towards lesser trochanter - meaning no intertrochanteric fracture.

There is abnormal narrow neck of femur with apparently large femur head - sequelae of poliomyelitis.

Case Discussion
