Femoral inter-trochanteric fracture - displaced

Presentation

Recent history of a fall.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Male

A complete oblique fracture line is seen involving the left proximal femur in the inter-trochanteric region with a gap between the fracture edges of about 1.6 cm and superolateral displacement of the distal femoral shaft. Few millimetric bone fragments are seen in between the fractured ends as well.

No other fracture detected.
