Fibromatosis coli

Case contributed by Ryan Thibodeau
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Swelling/lump on right side of neck.

Patient Data

Age: 1 month
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is a "mass" measuring 2.1 x 1.0 x 1.4 cm in the base of the right neck. This appears contiguous with the sternocleidomastoid muscle with evidence of muscle fibers running anterior and posterior to this lesion. No focal fluid collection or other abnormality is identified.

Case Discussion

The clinical presentation and imaging findings are highly suggestive of fibromatosis coli. At the time of imaging, follow-up imaging (ultrasound) was recommended to ensure resolution. The patient was lost to follow-up prior to additional imaging.
