Small lobulated cortical lesion of the medial femoral metaphysis (length = 17 mm) of low signal on T1, high signal PD fat sat with central low signal and peripheral sclerotic rim of low signal. No soft tissue component or periosteal reaction is seen.
Normal appearance of the menisci, cruciate and collateral ligaments.
Case Discussion
Fibrous cortical defects (FCD) are one of the most common benign bone lesions. They are asymptomatic, discovered incidentally on x-rays, CT or MRI.
