Presentation

Painless swelling of the left chest wall.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female
CT

There is a well-circumscribed lobulated fusiform osteolytic lesion of the left 6th anterolateral rib with areas ground-glass attenuation, and cystic as well as foci of calcification. No rib fracture or periosteal reaction is seen.

Case Discussion

Case of fibrous dysplasia of a rib. Fibrous dysplasia is considered as the most common cause of benign expansile lesion involving the ribs (see rib lesions).
