Transverse extra-articular fracture with a mild displacement/angulation through the 5th distal phalanx shaft occurring through a central 5 mm long expansile lesion with ground glass matrix. No cortical destruction, calcified periosteal reaction. Associated soft tissue swelling. No further fracture or focal osseous lesion is identified.
Case Discussion
Typical presentation of low-energy trauma resulting in a pathological fracture. The underlying lesion is most likely an enchondroma.
