Presentation

Pain on the left hand and left wrist. History of tripped and fall yesterday; the patient landed to the ground with his left hand first (+) tenderness, left palm (3rd, 4th, 5th metacarpal area), (+) tenderness anterior aspect of the left wrist (mid part), (-) open wound. The patient wore safety gloves.

A fracture in the base of the 5th metacarpal bone of the left hand is seen.

Case Discussion

This fracture is simple, with no significant displacement.

Treatment: was Ethyl chloride spray, bandage, and splint applied.
