Presented with nail bed injury of right great toe by lawnmower. Otherwise fit and well, no regular medications, no known drug allergy. Last ADT 12 years ago.

Comminuted fracture of first toe at the distal aspect of the terminal phalanx.
Case Discussion
On examination, nail was separated from the nail bed with a small nail bed laceration.
Lessons learned:
- always consider open fracture if suggested by mechanism of injury and clinical finding.
- use of digital block for proper nail bed assessment.
- ensure ADT is up to date for all outdoors injuries.
