Presentation

Pain and bleeding at the left foot since one hour after a steel object falls on his foot at work. The diagonal open lacerated wound at the dorsal side of the distal end of 1st metatarsal bone.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Left foot

x-ray

Undisplaced fracture in the left 1st metatarsal bone.

Case Discussion

First metatarsal is the least commonly fractured metatarsal. Undisplaced fractures usually treated conservatively.
