First metatarsophalangeal angle - hallux valgus

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Abnormal 1st metatarsophalangeal angle (measured 35°) consistent with hallux valgus. 5th metatarsal base fracture is also seen.

Case Discussion

The first metatarsophalangeal angle is between the axis of the1st metatarsal and the axis of the proximal phalanx of the 1st toe. Normal angle is less than 15°. Greater values indicate hallux valgus.
