Presentation
Liver lesion for follow-up.
Patient Data
Within liver segment V is a non-contrast hypodense lesion, that is arterially-enhancing 13 mm lesion, which remains hyperdense to liver parenchyma and isodense to blood pool on portal venous and delayed phases.
Case Discussion
This liver lesion was identified incidentally on a prior CT. It is arterially enhancing, with density following the blood pool in the portal venous and delayed phases. Being small, it does not show the peripheral enhancing with central filling typical of hemangiomas, hence it is called a flashing filling hepatic hemangioma (a.k.a. hepatic venous malformation)
