Extensive thickening of the flexor synovial sheath of the index finger from the metacarpal shaft to the distal phalanx with vivid enhancement after administration of gadolinium. No bony erosions of affection of the flexor tendons seen.
Case Discussion
This is an extensive case of flexor tenosynovitis. So far, no bony erosions or affection of the flexor tendons are present.
First line treatment options are usually non-surgical and may include activity modification, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, rest or cold therapy.
