Presentation
Incidental liver on ultrasound.
Patient Data
Large well-defined lesion in segment VII that has relatively low T1 signal and iso T2 signal compared to the background liver. It has vivid arterial hyperenhancement that persists throughout the multiple phases and there is the retention of contrast on the delayed hepatobiliary phase. A note is made to a slightly eccentric scar region at the superior aspect of the lesion, which has increased T2 signal and lack of contrast enhancement. A few subcentimeter peripheral hepatic cysts are also noted.
Case Discussion
Typical MRI features of focal nodular hyperplasia in a study performed with hepatobiliary specific contrast agent (Primovist).
