MR reveals a large, well-defined, lobulated mass with a central scar in segment III of the left lobe of the liver. The lesion was measured 52 x 50 x 46 mm. The lesion is slightly hypointense on T1WI, isointense relative to liver parenchyma on T2WI. The central scar of the lesion shows T2 hyperintense signal. After contrast administration on portal venous phase, the lesion shows homogeneous enhancement, except the central scar. Central scar enhances delayed images.

Findings are most suggestive of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH).

Case Discussion

The liver lesion shows typical MR imaging findings of focal nodular hyperplasia.
