Presentation
Right upper quadrant pain.
Patient Data
A large mass is seen at the left hepatic lobe with bright contrast enhancement on arterial phase. The central scar of the lesion remains low attenuation on early phases. The scar demonstrate mild enhancement on delayed phase, but the lesion's density itself goes back to the background liver (isodense) on delayed phase.
Case Discussion
The CT findings in a female are consistent with focal nodular hyperplasia (histologically-proven).
FNH is a benign tumor-like mass of the liver, second only to hemangiomas in frequency and most frequently found in young to middle-aged adults, with a strong female predilection.
