Case Discussion

This case features a foreign body within a patient's forearm - a singular fish bone that had pierced into the soft tissue when she was cleaning between crates of fish bones at a fish market. She presented with a red and swollen forearm that was warm to touch - signs of inflammation.

Debridement of the foreign body was performed and the patient was subsequently discharged.

Note: The use of a radiopaque arrow marker is highly encouraged in such examinations to mark out the site of foreign body penetration.
