Presentation

Non-healing wound involving the right medial ankle region - 2 months.

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Two adjacent wounds are inferior and posterior to the medial malleolus.

ultrasound

A linear echogenic focus (about 22 mm) in the soft tissue under the wound. Its proximal end is closer to the skin. The distal end passes deep to a muscle. It lies superficial to the medial ankle neurovascular bundle. Local soft tissue thickening with hypervascularity.

Surgery revealed a thorn under the skin marked site. It was removed.
