There is a linear echogenic focus (length 4 mm) just deep to the skin at the site of 'swelling' pointed by the patient. It is just lateral to the 2nd digit extensor digitorum longus tendon. There is no local collection/foreign body granuloma/tenosynovitis.
Case Discussion
The patient had a history of thorn injury to the dorsum of the midfoot; about 2 years back. There was palpable 'swelling' (thorn) at site of injury; which was confirmed by ultrasound.
The thorn was removed surgically.
