Presentation

A farmer presented with right foot dorsum diffuse edema for the last two weeks. No history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is a subcentimeter-sized, oval, hypoechoic nodule in the subcutaneous plane of the forefoot dorsum. It is at the 3rd metatarsophalangeal joint level and lies superficial to the extensor tendon. There is a linear echogenic focus (4 - 5 mm long) in the lesion.

There is diffuse subcutaneous edema of the foot without any collection.

Ultrasound findings of a foreign body granuloma and thorn fragment within in a farmer presenting with swelling of the foot. The granuloma was surgically excised and a thorn fragment found.
