At the site of swelling pointed by patient (thenar region), there is a strong acoustic shadow by a curvilinear focus; measuring about 9 mm. It is present in the superficial most muscle of the thenar region. There is surrounding hypoechoic rim but no collection.
History and clinical examination raised possibility of soft tissue foreign body. Ultrasound confirmed foreign body. It was removed surgically, and was a gravel stone.
