Recent pedestrian car accident with impact to left side of head. CT for assessment of possible head injury.

Small rounded hyperdense foreign body (arrow) in the external auditory canal lateral to the tympanic membrane.  Note the extensive fractures to the left parietal, squamous and petrous temporal bones with suture diastasis (arrows).
