Foreign body in foot

FB - Thorn injury - sole of fore foot - 15 days. C/o local pain swelling and pus discharge .

Patient Data

Age: 50 - 55 yrs
Gender: Male

Scanning from planter aspect :

Linear echogenic focus is noted in  region of interest  - Foreign body.

 Plane - subcutenous plane and also penetrating superficial fibres of muscle.

 Length - 16 mm.

 Superficial tip - 6 mm from skin - ( clinically  - site of local skin breach ).

 Direction - Towards medial malleolus.

 ( Deeper end is proximal ).


Surroundging hypoechoic granulation is noted.
