Foreign body induced tibialis posterior tenosynovitis

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Penetrating injury by thorn - medial malleolar region - 9 days. C/o local swelling - Pain. USG to rule out Foreign body.

Patient Data

Age: about 35 yrs
Gender: Male

A linear echogenic focus is noted embedded within tibialis posterior tendon sheath.

Size - 3.4 mm - Foreign body.

Foreign body is about 2 cm above the level of medial malleolus

Posterior tibial  tendon is intact.

No partial or full thickness tear is noted.

Fluid with synovial thickening is noted in tendon sheath above and below level of medial malleolus.

Hypervascularity is noted in sheath.

Local subcutaneous odema is noted.
