Three radiopaque foreign bodies in the plantar soft tissues, lying below the tarsometatarsal joint. Associated lucency is likely gas.

Penetrating pencil tip injuries are relatively common with the pencil core, most commonly graphite, sometimes being retained as a foreign body. X-ray and CT are the best modalities to demonstrate this foreign body.
