Fourth and fifth carpometacarpal joint dislocations

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Loss of joint space at the 4th and 5th carpometacarpal joints with small fracture fragments associated. Widening of the space between the 3rd and 4th metacarpals. Dorsal dislocation is obvious on lateral projection.  

Case Discussion

Carpometacarpal joint dislocations are rare and are often associated with fractures.
