Presentation

Right arm hard swelling. History of right arm trauma since 6 months during fall in bathroom and was treated in another hospital.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Right humerus

x-ray

Malunited fracture of mid-shaft of right humerus with outward bowing/angulation.

Osteoarthritis of glenohumeral joint.

Case Discussion

The patient told that shoe refused surgery and the fracture was treated conservatively with arm sling that caused malalignment of the humerus and healing occurred. Malunited fractures cause mechanical changes that can lead to osteoarthritis of nearby joints.
