Case Discussion

The above-mentioned finding indicates fractured osteochondroma, which originates from the medial femoral metaphysis. Osteochondromas are the most common benign bone tumours, often occurring at the metaphyses of long bones, such as the femur. The presence of bone marrow oedema, surrounding fluid, and soft tissue swelling indicated fracture.

Osteochondromas can occur as solitary lesions or multiple, with the latter linked to the autosomal dominant condition known as hereditary multiple exostoses.
